More Tools, more effective treatments.

While acupuncture needles are great and effective, they aren’t the only tool in East Asian Medicine. You know the phrase ‘the right tool for the right job’? This is true for treatments too. Many times cupping, moxibustion, teishin tools, gua sha, myofascial release, and hands on energy work are the right tool. If needles are indicated too, no problem! While needles can get specific results, using a broad spectrum of treatments gives you individualized care for a deeper treatment.

Your body talks, Dr. Ellerie listens

TCM is taught like a cookbook. The practitioner will use pulse and tongue and your story to find your diagnosis. Your diagnosis will give a recipe of acupuncture points. While that is logical, our bodies don’t always follow the textbooks. Dr. Ellerie was trained in practices that go beyond TCM. By learning how to read the body and its energetic blocks, Dr. Ellerie treats where your individual body is needs attention and where your biggest health blocks are originating. Using multiple lenses, she gets to the root of a problem. Like taking a photograph with an old fashioned camera, when you have the correct lens, the whole picture will be in focus. If you only have one lens, you might not see the whole picture. If you need a new perspective on your health issues, let’s talk. Call or text 707-205-3684 to make an appointment.

Treating Sensitive folks ( and people who hate needles)

Treating sensitive folks (and people who hate needles).

“Since I am personally a needle sensitive , I’ve focused both on non-needling techniques and being a very gentle and accurate acupuncturist. The treatments for each of my clients is totally different from the next client based on their individual medical needs and their sensitivities. Some treatments involve no needles and all non-needling techniques. Many of my clients receive 3-4 needles and the majority non-needling techniques. And some clients receive mostly needles and a few non-needling techniques. If you are needle shy, just let me know and the treatment will be suited for your needs.”

For the love of Moxibustion

When Dr. Ellerie first saw moxibustion being used in a treatment room it was love at first sight. The dance of the practitioner burning the fuzz of mugwort (aka moxibustion) in energetic patterns was a life changer. She has spent her years as an acupuncturist deepening her knowledge of this highly effective east asian technique to move qi (stuckness) and improve flow and circulation. She has seen old chronic injuries heal, scars soften, neurological disorders reverse, move emotional trauma, reduce gas and bloating , dissolve stress … (the list of conditions goes on and on)… all with with moxibustion. Dr. Ellerie has studied with multiple moxibustion masters, to deepen her knowledge of this ancient technique, including traveling to Japan to spend a week learning for the master herself, Sensai Koshiishi in Tokyo. If you’re feeling stuck in your health, try moxibustion.
